Around 200 participants out of 47 different countries participated at the first Global Hepatitis A meeting in Miami, USA, December 2007

Beside the University of Antwerp (UA), where the organising secretariat is located, also the Centers of Disease Control and prevention (CDC) and The Pan American Health organisation (PAHO) decided to sponsor the meeting. Thanks to this sponsoring more opinion- and decision makers involved in the control of viral hepatitis could be invited.

Also The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, AASLD, has endorsed this global hepatitis A meeting.

The European Association for the study of the liver, EASL, has endorsed this global hepatitis A meeting.
